Malala a 14 year old girl was shot by the Taliban after speaking up about the right for girls to go to school in Pakistan. Thankfully Malala has been hospitalized in the UK and has a good chance of recovering.
Across the world in countries such as Pakistan, India, Nigeria etc there are 61 million children who are denied basic primary education (just to put it in perspective there are approx. 62 million people in the UK.)
A petition has been launched under 'I am Malala' in support or what Malala fought for. We request all our donors to please sign the petition - the UN Envoy will be meeting in Pakistan soon to talk about educating girls there. Please take a moment to sign the petition and support the cause this innocent, young teenager got shot for.
