Bharathi

Every child deserves the love and support of both parents. Unfortunately, many children across India are deprived of adequate guardianship due to destitution, poor health, addiction, and other problems. Bharathi is thirteen years old, and came to Cornerstone Children’s Home in 2011 effectively as an orphan, after his father died of a heart attack and his mother refused to care for him. With the support of Big Hug Foundation, the orphanage is working hard to improve his education and inspire confidence in him, so that he can overcome his difficult past and look forward to a happier future.

Hear from a Big Hug Volunteer

“During the day, I work as an Assistant Producer (Events and Conferences) and I have been an Events Volunteer at the Big Hug Foundation since July 2012. I decided to get involved because I wanted to make a difference and help children that really need it. This combined with my passion for organising events inspired me to get involved. Volunteering for Big Hug has been a fantastic experience; it gives me the chance to give back to children who do not have the basic needs we take for granted.”
