Sri Madhiharan

Madhi is just five years old. His father deserted the family when Madhi was still a baby, leaving his mother to care for him and his brother single-handedly. This was already difficult enough, given a low income and poor living conditions, but it became unbearable after she fell sick with uterine cancer. Advised by the local police station, she soon took Madhi and his brother to Cornerstone Children’s Home, where volunteers could adequately provide for their needs.

Since 2013, both boys have developed well, and are learning and growing at a healthy pace. While doctors are doing everything they can to help their mother overcome her illness, we are working closely with the orphanage to help the boys grow into happy, successful adults. This can be assured with the continued support and generosity that you can provide to Big Hug Foundation and its partner project Cornerstone Trust.

Hear from a Big Hug Volunteer

“During the day, I work as an Assistant Producer (Events and Conferences) and I have been an Events Volunteer at the Big Hug Foundation since July 2012. I decided to get involved because I wanted to make a difference and help children that really need it. This combined with my passion for organising events inspired me to get involved. Volunteering for Big Hug has been a fantastic experience; it gives me the chance to give back to children who do not have the basic needs we take for granted.”
